Hermit Raven
We chose Raven to represent The Hermit as it is connected with crone energy, introspection and self-knowledge. We were inspired by American Illustrator Tasha Tudor and wanted to capture her version of the old woman in the woods. Our Hermit Raven lives in the woods and is connected to the Earth which suits her Virgo nature.
Symbolism
Three Sisters: An indigenous crop of corn, beans and squash that is self contained just like Hermit Raven is. Each sister works with the other to encourage growth, reciprocity and harmony.
Mushrooms symbolize self-discovery and inner exploration. The garden itself represents self nourishment.
The lantern: wisdom.
Woods and land connect Hermit Raven to the Earth which suit her Virgo nature.
Tending her garden: Spirit of service, also found in Virgo.
Astrology
The Hermit is associated with the sign of Virgo. This is a humble and efficient Earth sign with a heart that leans toward service.
